35.) ADJETIVOS CORTOS - SUPERLATVO

"The Nile. The longest river in the world"








Para formar el "superlativo del adjetivo corto de una sílaba", se añade "est" al final de la palabra
Ejemplos:
-What is the longest river in the world? = ¿Cual es el río mas largo del mundo?
-Tim is the oldest person in the class  = Tim es la persona mas mayor de la clase
-I bought the cheapest laptop  = Compré el portátil mas barato
-This was the coldest day of the year  = Este fue el día mas frío del año
-He´s the strangest person I´ve met  = Es la persona mas extraña que he conocido
-This is the nicest painting in the gallery  = Este es cuadro mas bonito en la galería
-I wonder what´s the highest mountain in the world?  = ¿Me pregunto cual es la montaña mas alta del mundo?
-Do you know which the tallest building is?  = ¿Sabes cual es el edificio mas alto?
-Today´s is the farthest we have walked  = Hoy es lo mas lejos que hemos andado

Recordar si el adjetivo termina con vocal + consonante, se dobla la consonante
Ejemplos:
-This could be the hottest summer  = Este podría ser el verano mas caluroso
-That´s the biggest plane I have ever seen  = Ese es el avión mas grande que jamás he visto
-She´s the prettiest girl I have ever seen  = Ella es la chica mas guapa que jamas haya visto

También hay adjetivos irregulares que cambian de palabra

Ejemplos:

Good = Bueno  / The best  = El / La mejor

-The best movie I saw was "The answer man"

Bad = Malo  / The worst  = El / La peor

-That was the worst food we´ve eaten in a long time  = Esa fue la peor comida que hemos comido en mucho tiempo

Little = Poco / The least  = El menos

-Taking me home is the least you could do = Llevarme a casa es lo menos que podrías hacer
